Jabar K. Hankins
Jabar K. Hankins, a native of Columbia, is deeply rooted in the Richland One community and a proud alumnus of W. J. Keenan, where he first embarked on his educational career as a student teacher. With over twenty-five years of dedicated service in various roles—ranging from English teacher and literacy coach to Secondary English Curriculum Consultant and District High School Instructional Coach—Mr. Hankins has made significant contributions to the district.
Mr. Hankins earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English Education from South Carolina State University, followed by a Master of Education degree from Columbia College. He further pursued an Education Specialist degree (Ed.S.) in Literacy from Converse College and holds principal certification from Lamar University.
As the principal of W. J. Keenan, Mr. Hankins is passionate about empowering students to believe in their dreams and providing them with the necessary tools to achieve them. His vision is to ensure that all scholars are "Raider Ready," equipped to excel in employment, academia, innovation, service, and entrepreneurship. Mr. Hankins is honored to serve the W. J. Keenan community and is committed to fostering an environment where every student can thrive.
