Dr. Marylin Ross Frederick

 

Dr. Marylin Ross Frederick is a dedicated educator whose distinguished career spans 37 years. She retired from Richland School District Two after serving in several impactful leadership roles, including principal of Blythewood Academy, assistant principal at Anna Boyd School, and curriculum effectiveness specialist at Kelly Mill Middle School.

Dr. Frederick began her educational journey in Florence, South Carolina, where she taught Business Education at Wilson High School and served as an evening instructor at Florence-Darlington Technical College. Upon relocating to Columbia, South Carolina, she held a range of teaching and administrative positions within Richland School District One, including Curriculum Resource Teacher at Lower Richland High School and assistant principal roles at Eau Claire High School and W.G. Sanders Middle School.

Her leadership extended beyond the school level in the Fairfield County School District, where she served as Director of Secondary Education, Director of Adult Education, District Test Coordinator, and District Textbook Coordinator—demonstrating a steadfast commitment to student achievement and instructional leadership.

Dr. Frederick holds three degrees from South Carolina State University: a Bachelor of Science in Business Education, an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration. She also earned a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Winthrop University.

She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the National Association of Secondary School Principals and the South Carolina Education Association/National Education Association. Dr. Frederick is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Phi Delta Kappa.

Above all, she is the proud mother of two dynamic and accomplished daughters, who continue to inspire her legacy of strength, service, and excellence.
