Mission

The mission of the W.J. Keenan High School Raider Engineering and Academic Leadership Program (Project REAL) is to actively engage students in math and science courses that are enriched with engineering applications to increase students’ academic performance in the study of math, science, engineering, and technology related fields at the post-secondary level.

Overview

After discussing several proposals and concepts, it was the committee’s decision to adopt the concept of Project REAL(Raider Engineering and Academic Leadership) and develop a focus of engineering. The committee’s research indicated that a focus in engineering would accomplish two things:

• Increase student achievement in the math and science areas

• Increase student success in traditionally under-represented fields of study at post-secondary institutions.
