On December 10, 2013, W.J. Keenan will be participating in the Hour of Code. The Hour of Code is a massive campaign to get 1 million students of all ages to try out the basics of computer programming.
Project REAL, Keenan’s pre-engineering program, will sponsor a school wide event showing how computer programming or coding is used in everyday life. Engineering Students and volunteers will assist teachers in showing the basics of coding and how creativity and critical thinking can enhance learning in the classroom.

Richland Library Hosts its First Local Author Showcase
Charles Elias Baker and Katrina Baker, authors of the book The Story of Vivian Jackson: Forty Years of Silence were present for their first book signing. The Bakers are the parents of Keenan HS student Ashley Baker. The book is a semi-fictional account of Ashley's paternal grandmother
. A signed copy of the book is available in the media center for viewing.
