    From the Principal

Welcome  students, parents, teachers, and staff,
It is my pleasure and honor to serve as your principal of   W.J.   Keenan High School.  Keenan has experienced success at many levels and in many areas over the years.  It is my goal to assist and support students, parents, teachers, and staff in a fashion that will allow us to best serve each student that walks the halls of Keenan every day.  I will work diligently to make certain Keenan is safe, orderly, and provides the best learning experience for our students.  I am excited and anticipate a successful school year that will be marked by success.
W.J.   Keenan will continue to improve, utilizing a focused approach of school reform through further implementation of High Schools That Work (HSTW).  We will continue our focus on improving literacy across all grade levels, increase the rigor of instruction in all classes, provide support systems that allow all students to be successful and focused on providing the best instruction daily.  Keenan has experienced remarkable growth in the End of Course (EOCEP) tested areas of Algebra I and US History.  Although Keenan has seen growth in student achievement for EOCEP, HSAP, HSAPL and graduation rate.  Our absolute rating on our school report card for this year will remain average.  At Keenan we understand that we still have room for growth and this provides us the opportunity to be even more successful.
Additionally, the academic and athletic programs at Keenan continue to improve and grow.  Our   JROTC   Raider Battalion is second to none in leadership and commitment to excellence.  Project REAL (Raider Engineering and Academic Success), ACCELERATE and our agriculture program have a history of success and each are evolving to better prepare our students for careers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and agricultural sciences.  The marching Raider Rubber band is large and in charge, ready for another successful year.  Athletically, our football, basketball and track teams are ready for another successful season.  Our boys and girls track team will be defending several individual state titles.  While our girls and boys basketball teams are also preparing for another successful season.
Welcome back to the entire Raider Family and let's have a Great Year!  Working to make certain that -  EVERY STUDENT WILL SUCCEED!
