I bet most of us were caught off guard to see the beautiful snow falling this past Sunday! My sisters and daughter took me to an overnight trip to Savannah, GA for my birthday. By the time I arrived back home, there were no signs of snow. My husband did send a picture, unbelievable! Checking the weather report, it looks like we are headed to warmer days. Hopefully, the cold weather is behind us for this season :) As I stated before, next to Summer, Spring is my favorite season.
The 3rd 9 weeks officially ends today and spring begins on Monday. As we adjust to daylight savings time, this is just a reminder that we need our boys and girls at school and on time. Yes, only 45 days left in this school year! The time has gone by so quickly! Report cards will be going home next Thursday, March 23rd. I hope you will take this opportunity to talk with your child about expectations for the remainder of the school year. Please help us remind our students that we are focused on “quality teaching and learning!” Our end of the year 9 weeks assembly will be held on Friday, March 31st, beginning at 8:00am for K-2nd and 9:00am for 3rd -5th grades.
Just a reminder that next Thursday is an early release day, and is designated for conferences. Don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher to schedule a conference. Breakfast and lunch will be served. Dismissal will be at 12 noon. We are heavily into the testing season and we ask that you continue your commitment to have our students here and on time each day. Early dismissals also limit our teaching time. We ask that you please limit early dismissals as much as possible.
As the weather warms, please monitor your child’s attire. Flip flops are not safe here at school and should not be worn. This creates a major safety hazard and we want all of our boys and girls here at The Park to be safe each day. Many of them have grown since the fall and some of the clothing worn may be outgrown and not appropriate for school.
Ms. Adams and the yearbook staff are working on this year’s yearbook. The cost is $20. Don’t forget to order your yearbooks. We are only ordering a limited amount, so be sure to reserve yours now!
A Cougar shout out to Ms. Seymore and her committee for a successful Mother/Son dance on last Friday. Thank you to our mothers for being here with your handsome boys. The night was very special for them. Photos should be back soon. Don’t forget that photos from the Daddy/Daughter dance are also here to be picked up. Please see Ms. Seymore or check with Ms. Mayes at the front desk.
Please plan to join us for our next PTO/SIC meeting, scheduled for Monday, March 27th at 6:00pm.
Please come in to volunteer whenever you can, we’d love to have you. You are always welcome!
