  • A Message from the Principal

Spring has sprung!!!  A reminder that we missed a few days due to Hurricane Matthew, so be sure that you are adhering to the schedule.  Next Friday, March 31st is a makeup day and the day for our end of the third 9 weeks assembly, beginning at 8:00am for K-2nd and 9:00am for 3rd -5th grades.  Students should have brought home their report cards on yesterday.   Along with the ending of the 3rd 9 weeks, 4 lucky classrooms will again be rewarded brand new tennis shoes from Coach Dawn Staley’s Educate my Sole program.

Hopefully, you were pleased with your child’s progress.  Next Thursday, March 30th is an early release day and we invite you to contact your child’s teacher to schedule a conference.  Even if your child is doing well, it is still a good practice to touch bases with your child’s teacher regarding expectations for the remainder of the school year, information regarding testing, etc.

Thanks to our Dads for coming out this morning for our annual Donuts for Dads special time with our “Cougars.”  We appreciate you taking the time out to visit with your children.  That special time means a great deal to them.  However, please know that you are always welcome here at any time.

Our time is going by so quickly! In a couple of weeks, we will be gone for spring break.  It has been a long haul, and we thank you parents for having your students here and on time each day.

As the weather warms, please monitor your child’s attire.  Flip flops are not safe here at school and should not be worn.   This creates a major safety hazard and we want all of our boys and girls here at Hyatt Park to be safe each day.

Don’t forget to order your yearbooks.  We are only ordering a limited amount, so be sure to reserve yours now if you have not already sent in money for them.  The cost is $20 per copy.

Hope that many of you plan to join us on Monday, March 27th for our monthly PTO/SIC meeting.  The meeting will be held at Lorick Park and we will begin at 5:30pm.  Light refreshments will be served.  You are welcome to bring your children with you.

Please come in to volunteer whenever you can, we’d love to have you.  You are always welcome!

Go Gamecocks!  How exciting that our boys and girls basketball teams have advanced to the Sweet 16 playoff games.  We wish them continued success!
